We have arranged an incredible opportunity for Rotarians and friends in the southern parts of Australia to meet and hear from the soon to graduate class of Peace Fellows studying at the University of Queensland.
The Fellows will be visiting Canberra to meet with subject-matter experts in areas of Peace and Conflict Resolution.
It is normally the case that the Fellows do not meet Rotarians in parts of Australia other than Queensland simply because of the nature of their program. Now, it looks like Canberra is going to be able to play a special and unique part in their curriculum by giving them access to senior staff in key Australian organisations and agencies related to Australia's peace and conflict resolution work which are based in Canberra.
And, by virtue of the Peace Fellows being in Canberra, we get to meet them!
While their time is pretty full on with meetings and the like for the Friday and Saturday they are here, we have arranged a Dinner on Saturday, 12th September 2009 for us to meet with and hear from the Fellows. Again, an unbelievably unique opportunity.
The Dinner will also allow us to raise some funds to contribute to the Rotary Foundation's campaign to raise capital to secure the Peace Fellow program into the future.
