2012-13 Ambassadorial Scholar – Sarah Jewell

Sarah JewellSarah has been selected to be the outbound Ambassadorial Scholar for 2012/2013 for District 9710.

Sarah completed her schooling in Melbourne (Korowa Anglican Girls’ School) and studied Law and International Relations at ANU where she graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Honours)/Bachelor of Arts in July 2011.

While at ANU, Sarah has worked part time at Toora Women Inc which is a Canberra NGO that supports women experiencing homelessness, drug and alcohol issues, domestic violence, mental health, trauma and women exiting prison.  She has worked across two roles – WIREDD (Women’s Information, Resources and Education on Drugs and Dependency) and as a Research and Project Officer in Toora Women Inc’s Management Office.

Sarah commenced full time employment as a Policy Officer in the Dept of Immigration and Citizenship in July 2011.

As well as paid employment, Sarah has been a volunteer in a number of humanitarian programs including:

Sarah’s first study preference is Trinity College in Dublin.

Sarah is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Woden Daybreak.
