September is Rotary Youth month, and if the youth activities of the past month are anything to go by, our District is in great shape.
It was great to visit Canberra Rotaract to see the Club in planning mode, and to be able to share with them some of the ‘mysteries’ of Rotary. Perhaps we will see some of them in our Clubs in future years.... over to you Rotary Clubs! Then it was off to a typical Rotaract changeover with the University of Canberra Club. Rotary International has succeeded in meeting the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s US$200 million match in funding for polio eradication, raising more than $202.6 million as of 17 January.
“We’ll celebrate this milestone, but it doesn’t mean that we’ll stop raising money or spreading the word about polio eradication,” Rotary Foundation Trustee John F. Germ told Rotary leaders at the International Assembly in San Diego, California, USA.
