We are launching a special Rotary Awards Programme to identify and recognise Inspirational Women in our Community and seek your Club's support to identify as many as possible for consideration for a special District award. This will be presented at a Celebration Dinner to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney on 10 March, 2011. RI President Ray Klinginsmith and his wife Judie will be attending the Dinner.
This programme, instigated by District 9750, involves all eight Rotary Districts in NSW, each of whom will choose their own Inspirational Woman to receive an Award on 10 March. This is a great opportunity for your club to attract new women members and to demonstrate the commitment of Rotary to welcoming women into Rotary. Apart from recognising one District Inspirational Woman in March, I would expect each club to invite their nominated women to a club meeting to be recognised by the Club.
Details of the Celebration Dinner will be communicated later but what I would like you to do immediately is to start your search for deserving women in your community.
Attached for your convenience is a copy of the Selection Criteria as well as a Nomination Form.
Assistant Governor Margaret Atkin has organised a small Selection Committee and will receive all Nominations which close on 19th November 2010. Please support this new initiative by seeking and nominating deserving non Rotarian women in your area.
Regards
Bill Seelis
District Governor 2010-11
District 9710
