The Rotary Club of Berrima District (RCBD) is a bit different from other clubs in the area.
We are a smaller Club with a very big agenda. Our Club is currently partnering with two very committed organizations to undertake a major local and international project.
Locally we are working with the BDCU Children’s Foundation to fund and develop Mental Health Outreaches for youth in the Southern Highlands. We call this our Outreach Project.
Internationally, we are partnering with Ramsay Health Australia to re-assign surplus medical equipment to third world countries where there is a critical need for such equipment. We call this our Oceania Project.
These projects are largely funded by our “Big Bash” where annually we host a very large party in the Highlands with fun and fundraising being the objective, and because people in the Highlands are a generous lot, it raises most of the funds we need to keep on top of our project work.
In 2013 we also launched a brand new initiative in partnership with the BDCU Children’s Foundation, called the "Bowral Long Lunch".
RCBD is a 'Lunch Bunch'. If you were to join us at Club Bowral, 40 Shepherd St, Bowral NSW 2576 on a Wednesday at 12:00pm you would enjoy good company, good food and drop of wine if you are so inclined. We are a bit of irreverent group so bring your smile and your sense of humor.
As you can see we take both our work and our fun very seriously.
In general we focus on the young folks both in our area and internationally, and aim to help the community become the best they can be.
